Robin Hood Film: Richard made only one screen appearance as Robin Hood in Walt Disney’s “The Story Of Robin Hood & His Merrie Men” (1952).

Trivia: In 1950 Richard won a Golden Globe Award (“Most Promising Newcomer”) for his performance in the film “The Hasty Heart” (1949). The film also earned him an Academy Award Nomination for “Best Actor”.

The Hasty Heart(1949) VHS
A sensitive WWII drama about an egocentric Scottish soldier (Richard Todd) unknowingly dying of a terminal disease while recuperating from a war injury in a Burmese hospital. American G.I. Ronald Reagan and nurse Patricia Neal attempt to befriend him, but his difficult manner keeps them at a distance. 101 min.

The Dam Busters(1954) VHS
Thrilling British WWII drama, based on a true story, follows a scientist who comes up with a way to destroy a series of German dams vital to the Nazi war effort and the RAF crew charged with carrying out the dangerous mission. Richard Todd, Michael Redgrave, Basil Sydney star; look quickly for Robert Shaw and Patrick McGoohan. 102 min.

 

Interrupted Journey(1949) VHS
The flight by rail of illicit lovers ends tragically as Richard Todd jumps the train in an attack of remorse. Meanwhile, Valerie Hobson is found dead in their berth. Exciting British mystery. 80 min.

After he's accused of murdering his mistress' husband, Richard Todd turns to the only person who believes he's innocent, drama student and ex-girlfriend Jane Wyman. Returning to the role she played two decades earlier, Bette Davis stars as England's Elizabeth I. Richard Todd is roguish Sir Walter Raleigh, who uses the aging monarch's interest in him for his own gains, and Joan Collins is the lady-in-waiting who comes between them.
